Donate to earthquake fund and get free zoo entry
A MAJOR tourist attraction is doing its bit to help victims of the devastating Haiti earthquake by opening its doors to the public for free in return for a donation to the relief effort.
South Lakes Wild Animal Park, at Dalton-in-Furness, is asking visitors to donate £2 each, which will go towards the Disaster Emergency Committee.
Karen Brewer, marketing manager, said: “Staff were overwhelmed by the reports coming from Haiti of the damage, destruction and loss of life.
“Nobody can fail to be moved by the pictures on the news and with the situation, in the poorest country in the western hemisphere, staff were compelled to do something.”
