Senior Keeper - Bristol Zoo

Salary £15,745 per annum.

Bristol Zoo Gardens are currently looking for an experienced bird keeper to work as part of our Avicultural team at the zoo.

This position requires some supervisory responsibilities and will report to the Curator of Birds.

The successful applicant will be an experienced bird keeper and will have at least five years experience working with a variety of exotic birds with some of this time in a senior position.

The successful applicant will be educated to at least GCSE level, including English and a biological science and hold the City & Guilds Certificate in Zoo Animal Management (or equivalent). You will also have the ability and experience of staff supervision, and having a general knowledge of the conservation and educational roles of zoos is also desirable.

Applicants will be required to work on average 80 hours per fortnight as part of the departmental rota. Subsidised accommodation is available if required.
