Zoo gets a lot of criticism, usually with reference to the size of enclosures but, through no fault of its own, its removal to a new site has been delayed year after year. It would appear that now the zoo has more 'rescue' animals than it does of animals from other sources. It is an interesting point to arrive at because zoos which are given the name 'rescue centre' (read Is it a Zoo) tend to get less criticism than those with the conventional title. All Dubai Zoo needs to do now is to change the name on the gate.
